Core prevention and adaptation markers

Individual commitments

  1. Acknowledge that an identification of the planetary boundaries of resilience to waste absorption is a deep-time human obligation.

  2. Entropic and climatic stasis requires humanity to: Reduce carbon uptake, nitrate use and natural forest destruction.

  3. Establish a steady state economic (SSE) system. Manage socially acceptable fertility decline.

  4. Inform sceptics, set right the deniers, correct the misinformed: Suffuse education curricula with sustainable and conservancy values.

  5. Commission an open-input independent GlobalGood super-computer facility; collate, interpret, trend, forecast, update and disseminate all manner of biospheric information and analysis.

  6. Curtail fiscal buccaneers; outlaw fiscal alchemy. Let us not be fooled again by fiscal fraud masquerading as competence.

  7. Reset the moral compass to a ‘new ethics’ and ‘new politics’. Tertiary graduates to swear an oath of lasting social services.

  8. Reproduction: ‘stop at two’ and support those who ‘stop at one’.

  9. Resource conservancy with waste conservancy. Promote efficiency and scotch inefficiency.

  10. Introduce ‘Input-Output’ procedures; along with ‘Contract and Converge’ and ‘Polluter Pay’ protocols.

  11. Actuate pragmatic environmental justice through: small scale guidelines, ecologically sustainable guidelines, technologically appropriate guidelines.

  12. Avoid, reject and punish environmental assault and criminality.
